Pain Management

Pain Management
Pain is unfortunately part of many neurological disorders.  Pain may be associated with diseases such Multiple sclerosis, Stroke, primary or secondary headache syndromes, or may be directly caused by processes such as peripheral neuropathy, radiculopathy, as well as neck and back pain of various etiologies.

What Is Acute Versus Chronic Pain?
Acute pain occurs when you sustain an injury for example, however in most cases resolves.  Chronic pain doesn’t go away – it lingers.  It may be episodic, however it does not go away.  Common chronic pain syndromes include headache, trigeminal neuralgia, neck or low back pain, muscle spasms and stiffness, or pain caused by nerve damage in the limbs.  A person may have two or more co-existing chronic pain conditions.  Pain can be debilitating both physically and emotionally if left untreated.
